Kari Alitalo is a Finnish academic and researcher affiliated with the University of Helsinki and the Academy of Finland. He has held prominent roles such as Director of the Wihuri Research Institute since 2013 and Scientific Director of the Molecular/Cancer Biology Research Program at the University of Helsinki. His research focuses on the pathophysiology of cancer, tumor angiogenesis, and metastasis, earning him international recognition through numerous awards and memberships.
