Karen Yeats is a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Combinatorics in Quantum Field Theory at the University of Waterloo, holding a joint appointment in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization (Faculty of Mathematics) and cross-appointment in the Department of Physics and Astronomy (Faculty of Science). Her research focuses on combinatorics, quantum field theory, causal set theory, and recursive structures in Feynman diagrams. She explores connections between graph polynomials and Feynman graphs, as well as combinatorial approaches to understanding quantum field theory's recursive nature.
Key publications include work on causal set d'Alembertians, φ_p amplitudes, and Hopf algebraic methods. She has contributed to the study of c₂ invariants and combinatorial interpretations of Feynman integrals.
Yeats has taught courses such as CO 250, MATH 229, and graduate topics courses on combinatorial Hopf algebras and Feynman diagrams. Her work bridges algebraic combinatorics and quantum physics, with applications to renormalization and scattering amplitudes.
