Karen Sewell is an Associate Professor and Graduate Programs Supervisor at the School of Social Work, Carleton University. Her work focuses on strengthening clinical supervision, transformative pedagogy, and advocacy in mental health and child/youth services.

Her research emphasizes clinical supervision, simulation-based learning, and social work advocacy to address social determinants of health. Current projects include CIHR and SSHRC-funded studies on workplace-based supervision and community reintegration. She leads the Clinical Supervision Connection Podcast and collaborates with the SIM Social Work Research Lab and Mental Health and Well-being Research Hub.
