Karen Linehan is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of Maine, where she has taught since 1984. Her academic focus includes modern American, Canadian, and European art and architecture.
- Education: B.A. in Fine Art (University of Maine, 1979), Canadian Studies and Art History (University of Toronto, 1976-77, 1980), M.A. in Art History and Museum Studies (Boston University, 1984).
Her research spans Venetian Renaissance painting (e.g., Giorgione and Pietro Bembo), Van Gogh’s literary influences (Carlyle, Dickens, and The Graphic illustrations), and Hampshire Pottery. She has curated exhibitions at the Currier Museum of Art and explores connections between 19th-century American/Canadian landscape painting and Canadian/British WWI artists.
