Karen Higgins

Karen Higgins is an Associate Professor and Director of the MSN Program in Education & Leadership at Regent University's School of Nursing. She holds a DNP from Chatham University, an MSN from Old Dominion University, and a BSN from Bradley University. With over 30 years as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she emphasizes patient-centered care, health promotion, and empowering patients. Her teaching focuses on student wellness, innovative pedagogies, and integrating the arts in education. Dr. Higgins is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps and an active speaker at national nursing conferences.

Her research and publications address innovations in graduate nursing education, self-care practices, and holistic well-being of nursing students. She advocates for holistic approaches to healthcare and education, blending clinical expertise with academic leadership.
