Karen Ganss is an academic professional affiliated with Colorado Mesa University (CMU) and the CMU/CU Boulder Engineering Partnership Program. Holding the academic rank of Lecturer, she focuses on engineering education and student support services.

Her research centers on the experiences of rural students in higher education, addressing digital inequities, college advising, and rural healthcare workforce development. She has published extensively on these topics, including studies on first-generation students and service-learning pedagogy.
Karen’s work also includes grant writing for rural health initiatives, particularly HRSA grants targeting the opioid overdose crisis. She engages in academic advising, curriculum development, and partnerships with CU Boulder to support rural student pathways into engineering and healthcare.
