معرفی
Professor Karen Edler leads the Edler group at the Centre for Analysis and Synthesis, Lund University, focusing on hierarchically structured materials through self-assembly of nanoscopic species (micelles, nanoparticles, polymers) in solution and at interfaces. Her work spans nanotechnology, sustainable chemistry, and materials science, with applications in drug delivery, catalysis, and biodegradable formulations. She is a Principal Investigator at NanoLund and contributes to the Light and Materials profile areas.
- Current Research:
- Self-assembly in deep eutectic solvents
- Lipid nanodiscs for membrane proteins
- Biodegradable surfactants
- Polymer-protein conjugates
- Cellulose nanofibril thickeners
- Mesoporous oxide particles
Key Techniques: Time-resolved grazing incidence X-ray/neutron reflectivity, liquid diffraction, small-angle scattering, TEM, SEM, AFM, NMR, and gas adsorption for multi-scale material characterization across Ångstrom to micron ranges.
Scientific Collaborations: Extensive partnerships in academia and industry for applied research in active delivery, catalysis, and green formulations.
