Karen Brunsting is an Assistant Professor and Acquisitions and Collection Development Librarian at the University of Memphis Libraries, where she has served since 2020. She provides leadership for all library resource acquisition processes and participates in strategic collection management planning for the university.

- MBA, Christian Brothers University (2020)
Research Interests: Her scholarly work focuses on open access publishing models, library budget allocation methodologies, liaison program effectiveness, and collection development strategies in academic libraries. She investigates how libraries can optimize resource distribution and accessibility in evolving scholarly communication ecosystems.
Professional Service: Active in multiple library associations including as founding organizer of The League of Awesome Librarians. Key committee roles include:
- Accessibility Working Group, Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (2020-present)
- Institutional contact for Scholars Trust consortium
- Executive Committee, West Tennessee Academic Library Council (2018-2020)
- Tennessee Library Association conference planning roles
Teaching: Developed and taught undergraduate courses on Wikipedia editing and research skills during Fall 2020 and 2021 semesters.
