Kara Chism is an Associate Professor and Chair of Educational Leadership at Samford University's Orlean Beeson School of Education, where she also directs the Master of Science in Instructional Leadership program. With 21 years of experience in public education spanning elementary to district-level administration, her academic work focuses on character development in schools and educational leadership.

She has conducted professional presentations on topics including Next Generation Science Standards implementation and literacy initiatives in middle grades education.
