Kandeepan Sithamparanathan

Professor Kandeepan Sithamparanathan is a Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at RMIT University's School of Engineering. He also serves as the Associate Dean for Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering. His research focuses on next-generation communication systems, including 5G/6G networks, satellite communications, machine learning applications, and security in communication technologies. He has received significant recognition, including Best Paper Awards and an IEEE Certificate of Appreciation for 10 years of dedication to the field.

Professor Sithamparanathan collaborates extensively with global industry partners such as Thales, Ericsson, and Telstra, as well as research organizations like the German Aerospace Center and CSIRO. He actively supervises PhD students and has secured substantial research funding grants. His teaching spans advanced topics in wireless communications, satellite systems, and signal processing, and he leads initiatives like the Smart Sat CRC, RMIT Space Industry Hub, and WILAB to advance smart communication technologies and IoT.
