Prof. Kamran Ikram is a Full Professor at Erasmus MC, affiliated with both the Department of Neurology and the Department of Epidemiology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research focuses on cerebrovascular diseases, cognitive disorders, and Alzheimer’s disease, with a strong emphasis on epidemiological and population-based studies. He leads investigations into risk factors for neurological and cardiovascular conditions, including the interplay between lifestyle factors, genetic predispositions, and disease outcomes.
Key research interests include the epidemiology of stroke, dementia prevention, and the application of biomarkers in predicting cardiovascular and neurological outcomes.
