معرفی
Kamila Walters is a Lecturer in Supply Chain at the University of Brighton, School of Business and Law, where she also serves as Associate Dean for Academic Operations. She has a strong interdisciplinary background, transitioning from a research and academic career in Physics to industry roles in supply chain and business intelligence, before returning to academia in 2019.
Her educational background includes:
- PhD in Physics, University of Lodz (2005), focused on nanocrystallization and magnetic properties of Fe- and Co-based alloys.
- MSc in Physics, Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Poland.
- BSc in Physics, Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Poland.
Her research interests span both her early work in materials science—particularly soft magnetic, amorphous, and nanostructured alloys—and her current focus on modern supply chain management. She emphasizes sustainability, ethical practices, and the application of Big Data analytics, IT tools, and performance metrics to improve supply chain decision-making. Her scholarly work integrates quantitative methods and data analytics into logistics and operations.
Her recent publications reflect a shift toward business and supply chain topics, including knowledge management for organizational resilience (2022) and DEI policies in supply chains (2025), following earlier materials-focused research on magnetic composites and amorphous alloys (2008–2016). This evolution highlights her interdisciplinary expertise bridging science, engineering, and business.
Kamila has no listed scientific awards at this time.
She is actively involved in teaching and supervision, leading modules such as Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Analytics for Logistics, and Enterprise Systems and E-Procurement at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She also supervises research projects and placements, drawing on her industrial experience to enrich student learning. She previously gained teaching experience in Physics, Mathematics, and Engineering during her PhD and in secondary and technical education.
Kamila spent ten years in industry at Higgidy Ltd, holding roles such as Supply Chain Manager and Finance Business Partner, which informs her practical, applied teaching and research approach. She brings real-world insights into the classroom and integrates her research into her pedagogy.
