Kalyanmoy Deb is a University Distinguished Professor and Koenig Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University. With over 35 years of research experience, he specializes in evolutionary computation and optimization. He has held visiting positions at institutions globally including the University of Skövde (Sweden), Aalto University (Finland), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), and multiple IITs in India.
His groundbreaking research focuses on evolutionary optimization applied to multi-criterion decision-making, computational modeling, and machine learning. His highly influential NSGA-II algorithm for multi-criterion optimization (published in 2002) has garnered over 50,000 citations and been commercialized by multiple software companies.
