Kalli Kappel

Dr. Kalli Kappel will join the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as an Assistant Professor in July 2025, where her lab will focus on predictive modeling of biomolecular systems. She previously held postdoctoral positions at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard as an HHMI Hanna Gray Fellow and Schmidt Science Fellow.

Education:

• B.S. in Physics, University of California San Diego
• Ph.D. in Biophysics, Stanford University

Research Interests: Combining structural biology, computational methods, and high-throughput experiments to decode sequence-structure-function relationships in RNA, proteins, and their interactions. Key areas include aging, metabolism, and nuclear condensate dynamics.
