Kajsa Ganhammar

Kajsa Ganhammar is an economist specializing in energy economics and market design, affiliated with the Department of Economics at Lund University. She completed her PhD in Economics from Lund University in June 2025 and was also affiliated with the Research Institute of Industrial Economics during her doctoral studies.

She employs theoretical modeling to analyze bidding behavior in electricity markets when incorporating the effect of co-existing markets for green certificates, as well as studying search frictions in competing auction markets. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to renewable energy and climate policy. Her research examines how regulatory interventions affect price volatility and investment decisions in renewable energy markets, with particular focus on the Swedish-Norwegian green certificate market.

Her publications demonstrate a consistent focus on market imperfections in energy markets, with her doctoral thesis providing a comprehensive analysis of policy and market design issues. Her published article in Energy Policy has received 18 citations and has been read by 36 researchers according to PlumX metrics.

Kajsa has teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant for Advanced Microeconomic Analysis (Autumn 2022 - Autumn 2024), Basic Macroeconomics, and Basic Microeconomics (Autumn/Spring 2021 - Present).
