Kaity Prieto Godoy

Dr. Kaity Prieto Godoy is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi's College of Education, Department of Educational Studies and Research. She teaches courses in Higher Education, including Social Justice in Higher Education and LGBTQ+ Student Experiences.

Education:

• B.A. in Self-Designed Honors Major, New York University
• M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs, New York University
• Ph.D. in Educational Studies (Higher Education and Student Affairs concentration), The Ohio State University (2020)

Her research focuses on queer and trans student experiences, particularly bisexual+ communities, challenging deficit-based frameworks. She employs qualitative methodologies to explore intersectional identities, campus belonging, and transformative equity practices.

Recent publications examine bi+ graduate students' identities, LGBTQIA+ policy approaches, and positionality of bi+ women in academia. Her work integrates ecological lenses, poststructural theory, and social justice frameworks.
