Kaitlyn Wilson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology at Towson University's College of Health Professions. Her research focuses on communication interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorders across the lifespan, with particular emphasis on social communication development, community-based programs, and professional training models.
Dr. Wilson investigates evidence-based practices for enhancing communication skills in autistic adults, including video modeling approaches and community integration strategies. She directs Project LINC, a $1.1 million interdisciplinary training initiative preparing professionals to support autistic students in educational settings. Her work examines barriers to employment, caregiver perspectives on adult services, and implementation challenges in school-based interventions.
Her research extends to early autism identification through retrospective analysis of infant play behaviors and object exploration patterns. She has developed assessment protocols for adult autism programs and examines how pre-professional clinical experiences shape therapist competencies.
