Kaitlin Fisher

Kaitlin Fisher is an Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences at SUNY Oswego. Her laboratory investigates cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying evolutionary processes in yeasts, combining experimental evolution with genomic analysis.

Research focuses on metabolic ecology, functional genome evolution, and fitness trade-offs in microbial systems. Current projects examine how yeast populations adapt to environmental stressors through genetic changes.

Publications demonstrate expertise in high-throughput phenotyping of natural yeast isolates and experimental evolution techniques. Recent work includes creating synthetic yeast hybrids and analyzing mutation patterns affecting heterozygosity.
