Kaire Põder is a Professor of Economics at Estonian Business School since 2016, with a distinguished career spanning over two decades in academia. She holds a Doctor's Degree from Tallinn University of Technology (2010) and has previously held positions at Tallinn University of Technology, Tartu University, and the Bank of Estonia. Her expertise lies at the intersection of economics, education policy, and institutional analysis, with a particular focus on education economics and labor economics.
Dr. Põder's educational background includes a PhD from Tallinn University of Technology (2003-2010), studies at Central European University in Budapest (2004-2005), and an International BBA from Estonian Business School (1991-1995). She has taught extensively at all academic levels, from bachelor's to doctoral programs, covering subjects such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Game Theory, and Institutional Economics, often in English across international settings.
Her research interests center on Education Economics, particularly school choice mechanisms, education production functions, and the economics of bilingual education systems. She also specializes in Institutional Economics, applying game theory and analytic narratives to understand social institutions and historical economic development. Her work frequently examines the intersection of education policy, labor markets, and institutional frameworks across European contexts, with a special focus on Estonia's educational system and its comparative positioning within Europe.

Her international teaching experience includes summer schools in Slovenia and courses at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnics University in Russia, reflecting her commitment to cross-border academic collaboration.
