Kaiqi Zhou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation and Health Services at the University of North Texas. Their research focuses on psychosocial adaptation to chronic illnesses and disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, assistive technology, and the application of psychoanalysis in rehabilitation counseling. They hold a Ph.D. and certifications as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and Licensed Professional Counselor-Individualized Track (LPC-IT).
Research interests include disability acceptance, value change, disability identity, and trauma-informed approaches in vocational rehabilitation. Dr. Zhou's work also addresses workplace accommodations for neurodivergent populations and the role of assistive technologies in enhancing employment outcomes.
