Kai Xu is a Lecturer in the Department of Engineering at King’s College London, UK, affiliated with the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences. His research focuses on ultra-low-power CMOS integrated circuits and systems for wireless communication, biomedical implants, AI-assisted RF systems, and cryogenic CMOS for quantum computing.
- Education: MSc in Electronic Engineering (Peking University, 2015), PhD in Electronic Engineering (University College Dublin, 2020).
His work spans monolithic RFIC design (oscillators, amplifiers, phase-locked loops) and interdisciplinary applications in quantum information processing and event-driven sensing. As a member of the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society, he contributes to academic peer review for journals including IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits.
- Awards: Flanders DUO Fellowship (2013), IEEE SSCS STGA Award (2018).
Kai leads the King's Analog Intelligent Circuits and Systems Lab (KAI-Lab), established in 2023, which recruits PhD researchers with expertise in analog/mixed-signal circuit design, electromagnetics, and machine learning algorithms.
