Prof. Kai Kummert is a Professor at Berlin University of Technology's Department of Building Construction. His research focuses on facility management (FM), energy efficiency, sustainable construction, and real estate management. He leads projects like FEEL, ModEnCo, and FM 4.0, exploring innovative FM service models and energy systems optimization. He has advised numerous students, including Selina Weber, Dominique Tassia Bellwon, and others, on topics ranging from energy management to robotics in FM.
Key research interests include sustainable FM practices, energy efficiency in non-residential buildings, and the integration of digital technologies. Notable publications include analyses of energy efficiency gaps and model-based energy controlling in SMEs. Former employees include Lea Elfert, Frank Scheffler, and Jonathan Schulze, contributing to research and teaching.
