Kai Hufendiek is a Professor at the University of Stuttgart, affiliated with the Institute of Energy Economics and Rational Energy Use (IER) and the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC. His research focuses on Energy Economics, Energy Systems, and Intelligent Distributed Energy Systems, with specific emphasis on Electricity Market Models and Renewable Energy Integration.
His work also intersects with Computational Design in Architecture, as indicated by his leadership in the Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture (T3.0) team. He is involved in projects like AP 17 – Real World Laboratory CampUS hoch i and actively engages in applied research related to energy markets and intelligent systems.
