Kaela Farrise serves as Adjunct Faculty in the MA in Clinical Psychology program at Antioch University Los Angeles, where she is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) actively engaged in clinical practice and community advocacy. She founded Therapy While Black, an organization dedicated to reducing mental health stigma in Black communities through education and outreach initiatives.
Her academic credentials include:
- Bachelor’s degree in African and African American Studies and Urban Studies from Stanford University
- Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University
Professionally, Farrise specializes in trauma treatment for families of color, developing culturally responsive psychological interventions, and implementing mental health services in community settings. Her background encompasses roles as a child and adolescent mental health fellow at Kaiser Permanente and Lab Manager for Stanford University School of Medicine’s Early Life Stress and Resilience Program. Current work integrates private telehealth practice with academic instruction, emphasizing practical applications of mental health care in underserved populations. She actively bridges clinical practice, research, and community advocacy to address systemic disparities in mental health access and treatment efficacy.
