KA-NING FONG

Ka-Ning Fong is a Lecturer in the Department of Art at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Since 1982, he has taught courses on drawing and painting across multiple institutions, including UHM, Honolulu Community College, and Windward Community College. His research focuses on drawing and painting techniques, with a career spanning over four decades.

Research & Awards: Fong has received significant recognition, including the Best-of-Show Grand Prize (2009), the “Tan Yi” Juror’s Award (1989), and the Grumbacher Gold Medallion Award (1984). He has also garnered purchase awards from the Honolulu Academy of Arts (1992, 2001) and the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (1984–2010).
