Jürgen Bode

Jürgen Bode is a Professor of International Management and Vice President for International Affairs and Diversity at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS), Germany. He is also the Managing Director of the BRS Institute for International Studies. His work spans academic leadership, international collaboration, and applied research in global management and entrepreneurship.

His educational background includes a Master’s in Management and Industrial Engineering from TU Darmstadt, a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Cologne, and a post-doctoral degree in Automation Science from Tsinghua University, Beijing. He previously held academic positions at Tsinghua University and the International School of Management, Dortmund.

Prof. Bode's research centers on entrepreneurship in Africa, international marketing, SME development, and digital internationalization of higher education. His work emphasizes transdisciplinary knowledge transfer between academia and industry, particularly in Ghana and Kenya.

He leads several large-scale international projects funded by BMZ, DAAD, and MIWF, including BET Ghana, PASS, and the German-African University Partnership Platform. These initiatives focus on enhancing employability, innovation, and sustainable economic growth through education and industry collaboration.

Prof. Bode actively advises student theses in areas such as international management, entrepreneurship in Africa, logistics, and operations. He also leads the BRS Institute for International Studies and plays a central role in shaping H-BRS’s global strategy, including virtual mobility (ViMoAll) and international negotiation training (BAIN).

He is involved in establishing cooperative study programs with Chinese universities and advancing digital tools for internationalization across academic departments.
