Júliusz Huth

Júliusz Huth is an Assistant Professor at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and concurrently serves as a researcher/museologist at the Central European Art History Research Institute – Museum of Fine Arts. His academic background includes doctoral studies in art history at ELTE-BTK Doctoral School of Philosophy (2017-present), a Master's degree in Art History from ELTE-BTK (2016), and a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts specializing in Art History from Babes-Bolyai University (2012). Prior academic roles include positions at Műértő Art Magazine (2016-2020) and technical management at Erika Galéra Deák (2014-2017).

Research Focus

Huth specializes in Hungarian art history with emphasis on neo-avant-garde movements, post-socialist institutional transformations, and critical analyses of artistic production during political transitions. His research examines the interplay between cultural policy, institutional frameworks, and artistic practices in Central Europe, particularly focusing on Hungary's art scene during the 1980s-1990s regime change period.
