Jérémie Palacci

Jérémie Palacci is a Professor at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), where he has been since 2023. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor (2021–2023) and Adjunct Associate Professor (2021–2023) at UC San Diego, USA.

Education:

• Master in Physics, École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (2007)
• Agrégation de Physique, France (2006)

His research focuses on Experimental Soft Matter Physics, Interfacial Transport, Self-Organization, and Active Matter, particularly on colloidal systems and microscale dynamics. His recent work explores unconventional colloidal aggregation, rotation control, and metamachines of colloids.

His scientific awards include the ERC Consolidator (2023), Hellman Fellowship (2018), Sloan Research Fellowship (2017), and NSF CAREER Award (2016). He has supervised 6 postdocs, 4 graduate students, and 7 predoctoral assistants since 2015.

Palacci has contributed to teaching at IST Austria and UC San Diego, including advanced courses on colloids and graduate-level soft matter physics. He is actively involved in outreach, diversity promotion, and institutional service.
