Justin Deters is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Health and Human Physiology within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa. He holds a B.S. in Health Sciences and an M.S. in Integrative Physiology from Benedictine University, and is completing his Ph.D. in Health and Human Physiology at the University of Iowa. His dissertation focuses on Chronic Medical Cannabis Use in Multiple Sclerosis Patients, and he collaborates with the MIND Lab in the Department of Radiology at the University Hospital to study neuroimaging in special populations.

Dr. Deters teaches courses in human anatomy, physiology, and sensorimotor neurophysiology, including HHP:1050 Exploring Health and Human Physiology, HHP:1100 Human Anatomy, HHP:1400 Human Anatomy and Physiology, and HHP:4300 Sensorimotor and Neurophysiology. His research bridges human physiology and neuroimaging, with a specific emphasis on therapeutic applications in chronic diseases like multiple sclerosis.
