Justice Osei-Afriyie is a Graduate Teaching Fellow and PhD candidate at the University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice. He holds an LL.M and LL.B from Queen Mary, University of London, and a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Ghana.
His research focuses on International Investment Law, Postcolonial Theory, and African states' sovereignty in legal policymaking. His doctoral thesis examines foreign investment law policies of African states through critical postcolonial frameworks. He teaches Intellectual Property Law (Law 338 & 339) and is affiliated with the Law & Non-Communicable Diseases Unit.
Key research themes include the role of African states as 'rule-takers' or 'rule-makers' in global investment law, with publications analyzing sovereignty dynamics and healthcare legal frameworks in developing nations.
