Junho Park is an Assistant Professor at Coventry University's Research Centre for Fluid and Complex Systems. His work focuses on fluid dynamics applied to geophysical, astrophysical, and engineering systems, with expertise in hydrodynamic instabilities, turbulence, and vortex dynamics. He holds a Doctorate in Mechanics from École Polytechnique (2013), specializing in vortices in stratified/rotating fluids, preceded by an MSc in Fluid Mechanics (2010) and a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering (2008) from KAIST.
Research interests include: hydrodynamic instabilities, Taylor-Couette flows, waves in stratified fluids, transition to turbulence, nonlinear systems, and compressible boundary layers. His recent studies investigate tidal wave interactions in planetary interiors, shear instabilities in stellar radiation zones, and chaotic dynamics in extended Lorenz models. Park has contributed over 18 peer-reviewed articles and presented at international conferences on fluid dynamics.
Collaborations span astrophysical fluid dynamics and turbulence modeling. He actively reviews for journals like Journal of Fluid Mechanics and Chaos, Solitons & Fractals. His work bridges theoretical analysis with numerical simulations, addressing fundamental questions in rotating and stratified fluid systems.
