Jung Yin Tsang

Jung Yin Tsang is an Academic GP and Honorary Consultant Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research & Primary Care and the Division of Pharmacy & Optometry. His work focuses on leveraging health data to improve care quality and reduce health inequalities. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (NIHR Doctoral Fellowship) and has held academic clinical posts including an Academic Foundation Post, Academic Clinical Fellowship, and NIHR In-Practice Fellowship.

Research interests include clinical informatics, polypharmacy management, patient safety, and antimicrobial resistance. He co-led a NIHR grant improving AKI patient safety through informatics systems, impacting 45+ practices. Collaborated on Connected Health Cities' national antibiotic prescribing dashboard implemented in 70+ practices. Awards include RCGP Specialty Trainee Award (2021), BCS Early Career Award (2021), and BCS Julian Costello Award (2024).

Grants and collaborations involve NIHR School for Primary Care Research and UK Department of Health initiatives. Current work develops polypharmacy assessment scores using CPRD data. Active in UN SDGs related to health equity and innovation.
