Jun Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at San Diego State University (SDSU), affiliated with the Computational Science Research Center (CSRC). He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University (2018), an M.S. from Purdue (2014), and a B.S. from Beihang University (2012). His research focuses on control, optimization, and machine learning for large-scale autonomous systems, with applications in air traffic management, UAS traffic management (UTM), and autonomous vehicles. He has received awards including the Purdue College of Engineering Outstanding Research Award (2018) and the GREW Fellowship (2019). His work spans theoretical and practical aspects, including algorithm development and field tests. He supervises graduate and undergraduate students in areas like fog computing, distributed control, and UAV trajectory planning.
