Julze Alejandre is a Research Fellow in Public Engagement at the University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine. His work focuses on knowledge mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, and co-creating sustainable healthcare solutions. He holds a PhD in Sustainable Healthcare & Implementation Science from Glasgow Caledonian University and an MSc in Public Health (Distinction) from Bangor University as a Chevening Scholar.
- Research Interests: Social prescribing models, climate-sensitive health policies, and the intersection of health and environmental sustainability.
- Professional Experience: Former policy officer at a UK food charity, WHO consultant for trans-fatty acid elimination strategy in the Philippines, and parliamentary intern in the UK House of Lords.
He has contributed to projects like Scotland’s Blue-Green Prescribing Programme and nature-based social prescribing frameworks in the UK/Germany. Current affiliations include steering roles in the Scottish Social Prescribing Network and Scotland’s One Health Breakthrough Partnership.
Awards include British Council-funded research grants and recognition through global health leadership programs. His work bridges policy, implementation science, and community health equity initiatives.
