Julius Haag is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto. He specializes in policing, youth justice, racialization, criminalization, and teaching strategies. His research explores the impacts of policing and criminalization on marginalized youth, particularly Afro-Caribbean communities, and examines social media's role in conflicts. He collaborates on studies like the Greater Toronto Area gun violence project with Julian Tanner, Scot Wortley, and Jooyoung Lee.
Education:

Research interests also include campus life experiences of racialized students and effective pedagogical practices. He teaches courses on policing, crime sociology, and domestic radicalization.
Publications include contributions to Youth at Risk and Youth Justice: A Canadian Overview (2018) and Crossing Places: A Review of Urban Youth Policy (2017).
