Julio García-Espinosa

Julio García-Espinosa is a Professor at the Architecture, Construction and Ocean and Naval Systems Department of the Higher Technical School of Naval Architects and Offshore Engineers (ETSIN) at the Technical University of Madrid. He serves as Deputy Director of Institutional Relations at ETSIN.

Education:

• MSc in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Technical University of Madrid (UPM)
• PhD in Civil Engineering from Technical University of Catalonia (UPC)

Research Interests: Computational models for fluid-structure interaction analysis, with applications in shipbuilding technology, offshore platforms, and marine structures. His work spans Applied Mathematics, Ocean Engineering, and Computational Mechanics.

Collaborations:

• International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE)
• Co-founder of Compass IS (engineering design) and Scipedia (technology platforms)

Scientific Output: Over 35 first-tier journal publications, 80+ conference papers, and participation in 25+ European/international research projects.
