Julio Cabrera Varela

Dr. Julio Cabrera Varela was Professor of Politics in the Department of Political Science and Sociology at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, University of Santiago de Compostela. His academic career focused on sociological and political analysis of Galician nationalism and social imaginaries.

Education includes:

• PhD from University of Santiago de Compostela (1990): Intellectuals and the national question in Galicia: analysis of the levels of significance and manifestation of the ideological system of current Galician nationalism

Research examined the intersection of intellectuals, nationalism, and ideological systems in Galicia. His scholarly contributions advanced understanding of regional identity politics and sociopolitical dynamics in northwest Spain.
