Juliette Rogers serves as Professor and Chair at Macalester College, based in the Humanities Building (Room 411), with active leadership as co-director of the Concentration in Human Rights and Humanitarianism. Her interdisciplinary teaching spans French literature, Quebec studies, and cross-listed courses with Theater, Environmental Studies, and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
Her academic credentials include a BA from Oberlin College and a PhD from Duke University, foundational to her scholarly expertise.
Rogers' research specializes in 19th century French literary traditions, particularly the Belle Epoque era (1880-1914), and francophone Quebec literature with emphasis on contemporary women writers. She authored the monograph Career Stories: Belle Epoque Novels of Professional Development (Pennsylvania State University Press, 2007) and numerous articles, reflecting deep engagement with professional development narratives and gender studies in francophone contexts.
Her distinguished recognition includes:
