Julienne Grant serves as an Instructor and Reference Librarian at the Louis L. Biro Law Library of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Law. She previously held a similar role at Loyola University Chicago School of Law for nearly 18 years. Her expertise spans Latin American legal systems, with a focus on Cuban and Mexican law. As Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Legal Information, she contributes to the dissemination of legal scholarship globally. Grant holds a B.A. magna cum laude in Spanish from Middlebury College, an M.A. in Ibero-American Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A.L.S. from Dominican University, and a J.D. cum laude from DePaul University. She also earned a Certificate in Editing from the University of Chicago.
Her research interests include legal information management, international law librarianship, and the evolution of legal systems in Latin America. Grant has authored multiple guides on Cuban and Mexican law, co-authored chapters in law library publications, and served leadership roles in professional organizations such as the FCIL-SIS of the American Association of Law Libraries.
Her recent articles address topics like the rule of law in Ukraine, U.S.-Canada legal landscapes, and Cuban legal developments during the Deshielo period. She actively participates in academic conferences and publishes in journals like the Canadian Law Library Review and Legal Reference Services Quarterly.
