Julien Le Maux is a Professor in the Department of Accounting at HEC Montréal, holding roles such as Director of the Case Centre and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Case Studies in Management. He specializes in corporate governance, fraud detection, business valuation, and mergers and acquisitions. Le Maux holds a Doctorat in Management Sciences from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and has additional qualifications in finance, criminology, and economics. His research focuses on readability of financial disclosures, white-collar crime prevention, and corporate fraud. He has advised numerous students on topics ranging from remote work impacts to ESG criteria analysis. Notably, his 2021 paper on accounting disclosures was one of the most downloaded in its journal. Le Maux is also involved in cybersecurity initiatives through IMC2 and ESG education via the Michael D Penner Institute.
