Dr. Julie Wilde is a Senior Lecturer in Professional Learning at the University of Wolverhampton's School of Education, part of the Faculty of Education, Health & Wellbeing. She leads the Professional Doctorate in Education programme and teaches across initial teacher education (FE), MA in Education, and postgraduate research. With over 30 years of experience in further, adult, and higher education, her expertise spans teacher subjectivity, professional learning, policy-practice intersections, and narrative research methods.
Qualifications include a Professional Doctorate in Education (2019) and Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Professional memberships include the British Education Research Association (BERA) and Learning Skills Research Network (LSRN). She has presented at major conferences like BERA, UCET, and ARPCE, and serves as a journal reviewer for Education for Teachers (JET). From 2015–2019, she was an external examiner at the University of Derby.
Her research focuses on storytelling in education, teacher resilience in neo-liberal contexts, and curriculum development frameworks. She currently supervises 11 doctoral students across further/higher education, professional learning, and narrative research methodologies.
