Julie Schram

Dr. Julie Schram is an Assistant Professor of Animal Physiology at the University of Alaska Southeast's Department of Natural Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her integrative research examines how environmental factors like ocean acidification, warming, and marine heatwaves affect invertebrate and seaweed physiology, trophic ecology, and benthic community interactions.

Current projects use biomarkers (fatty acids, stable isotopes) to study producer-consumer dynamics in marine ecosystems. She has conducted field research in Antarctic, tropical, and temperate systems, documenting physiological responses to changing ocean conditions.

Office hours: Mondays/Wednesdays 1-3 PM in Anderson Building 205B.
