Dr. Julie Leviter is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine and an Attending Physician at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital and Greenwich Hospital. Her clinical focus is pediatric emergency medicine, with expertise in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) applications in critical care settings such as pediatric cardiac arrest. She completed her pediatric residency at Yale New Haven Hospital (2016), fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Brown University/Hasbro Children’s Hospital (2019), and additional POCUS fellowship training at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Her research emphasizes POCUS integration in emergency care, including timely diagnoses for abdominal pathologies and cardiac arrest management. She is actively involved in medical education for residents, fellows, students, and nurses, having developed curricula like a remote POCUS training program for critical care transport teams. Dr. Leviter has published extensively in Pediatric Emergency Care, Ultrasound Journal, and Injury Prevention, focusing on POCUS applications, cardiac biomarkers, and injury prevention.
Her awards include the Pediatric Academic Societies Travel Award (2018) and EmergiQuiz Best Case Presentation (2017). She collaborates with experts like Antonio Riera on POCUS protocols and has co-led studies on car safety interventions and myocarditis diagnostics.
