Julie Lapping Rivera

Julie Lapping Rivera is a Lecturer in Art at Smith College. She works primarily in woodcut combined with collage, often collaborating with artists and poets. Her recent collaborative projects include a sculptural installation at Art in the Orchard and an ongoing portrait and poetry project honoring under-recognized women in history.

Research Interests: Rivera's artistic practice focuses on printmaking, drawing, and mixed-media works, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration. Her work integrates traditional woodcut techniques with collage and explores themes of historical memory and gender representation.
