Julie Jarzemsky is an Assistant Professor in the Math & Computer Science Department at Western Colorado University, affiliated with The Western-CU Boulder Engineering Partnership Program. She holds an MS in Computer Science from University of Colorado Boulder (2023) and a BS in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin Madison (2013).

Julie's research focuses on integrating ethics into computer science education and exploring interdisciplinary connections between computing and art/design. She is passionate about creating inclusive classroom environments and bringing real-world projects into her courses. Her notable publication on ethics integration in programming assignments was presented at the ACM SIG Computer Science Education Technical Symposium in Toronto in March 2023.
Professionally, Julie has experience as a software engineer at HomeAway/Expedia and has taught at American YouthWorks. She is affiliated with the University of Colorado Boulder Internet Rules Lab, Bohemian Innovations, American YouthWorks YouthBuild Program, and ChickTech.
Julie teaches courses including Algorithms, Object-Oriented Analysis & Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Introduction to Computational Thinking, and Software Engineering Projects.
