Julie Flynn

Dr. Julie Flynn is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Nursing and Midwifery. She holds a BIT (Charles Sturt University), BNurs (Queensland University of Technology), MAdvancedPrac (Griffith University), and PhD (Griffith University). With 15 years of clinical expertise in haematology/palliative care, she coordinates outreach and engagement for the School.

Her research focuses on infection control practices for vascular access devices, particularly in cancer therapy recipients. She investigates needleless connector decontamination, catheter failure mechanisms, and evidence-based clinical protocols. Recent work includes randomized trials on catheter safety and systematic reviews of obstetric tools.

Publications emphasize nursing interventions in medical device efficacy, with recurring themes in infection prevention, vascular access management, and clinical guideline implementation across acute/sub-acute settings. Research consistently integrates qualitative insights with controlled trials.
