Julie Fitzpatrick

Julie Fitzpatrick is a Tutor at the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA), specializing in MSA LIVE and Atelier programs. With over 20 years of experience at MSA, she also leads designPush, an architectural design practice established in 2002. Her research focuses on urban design theory, motion-based design, and residual spaces around transport systems, particularly integrating 18th-century garden design principles into modern planning strategies. She advocates for community-driven projects, such as a local workshop and garden emphasizing retraining, reuse, and repurposing.

Her professional practice emphasizes hands-on crafting as a therapeutic tool. Current interests include the intersection of transportation infrastructure and urban landscapes, aiming to harmonize built environments with ecological and social needs.
