Julie Doxsee is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Harrisburg University, a position she has held since relocating to Pennsylvania in 2016 following a nine-year residence in Turkey. She holds a PhD in English and Creative Writing from the University of Denver (2007) and an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2002).
Her research centers on contemporary poetry and creative writing, characterized by experimental approaches to themes of mortality, perception, and transformation. Published works include five critically acclaimed poetry collections that explore the boundaries of language and consciousness. Critics note her ability to create 'delicately overwhelming' verse that examines 'the axis on which mortality rests'.
