Julie Battilana is the Joseph C. Wilson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and the Alan L. Gleitsman Professor of Social Innovation at Harvard Kennedy School. She founded the Social Innovation and Change Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School and teaches Power and Influence in the MBA program. Her research spans organizational behavior, social entrepreneurship, and hybrid organizational forms.
- Education: B.A. in sociology and economics, M.A. in political sociology, M.Sc. in organizational sociology and public policy from École Normale Supérieure de Cachan, joint Ph.D. in organizational behavior from INSEAD and École Normale Supérieure de Cachan.
Research Interests focus on divergent organizational change, hybrid organizing (social enterprises combining nonprofit and corporate models), power dynamics in institutions, and gender in organizational contexts. She examines how organizations balance social and financial goals.
