Julie A. Peterson

Julie A. Peterson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Creighton University's School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. She serves as Director of Clinical Operations, overseeing Creighton Therapy and Wellness (including occupational, physical, and speech therapy) and Creighton Pediatric Therapy. Her clinical education roles include teaching Practice Management, Pain Management, and women's/men's health content in the DPT program.

Dr. Peterson holds a DPT (2001) and EdD in Interdisciplinary Leadership (2022) from Creighton University. She is a Board-Certified Women's Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) and Board-Certified in Biofeedback for Pelvic Muscle Dysfunctions (BCB-PMD).

Her research focuses on pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, clinical reasoning, and residency education. Recent presentations address biofeedback applications in bowel/bladder dysfunction and lymphedema management. She actively contributes to professional organizations including the American Physical Therapy Association and Nebraska Physical Therapy Association.

Notable awards include the PT Clinical Excellence Award and Young Alumni Appreciation Award. Her clinical mentorship extends to the women's health physical therapy residency program.
